OUR STORY

As a young girl I grew up on a small farm. My parents raised, cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, ponies, horses, dogs and many other pets. I enjoyed learning about the different animals and was in a 4-H club. My mom worked a beautiful vegetable garden and we had wonderful fresh veggies. On Sundays we would run to the chicken coop to get fresh eggs for breakfast. Looking back I am beyond impressed at how hard my parents worked to raise and feed myself and my 3 siblings.

My Dad was a Butcher for BPM Supermarkets which is known today as Shaw’s. Along with this he had built a meat room in our basement that he would process the animals that were raised for consumption. Hunting season, my dad was the go to butcher for all the local hunters and their deer.

Pickle time, was a favorite for us kids as my Nana and her sister had the best pickle recipe, this inspired me to have the very best pickles.

During High School, I worked at a local restaurant. From there went to Disney University for culinary arts and remained in the foodservice industry the next 30 years, working in food sales as a broker and as a business resource specialist for Sysco.

2020 arrived and Covid19 took its toll on the foodservice industry. Finding myself out of work I decided to pursue a dream and open a food trailer. The same week, my dad passed away very unexpected. This came to be the worst day of my life. My dad and I had a great relationship and we shared many common interests, from cars, Nascar, camping, and our shared love of food. Dad would call daily to discuss what he may have eaten or something he saw on the food network. Triple D was a favorite. While spending time with my mom, my husband, and siblings the week of my dads passing, I shared my dream. With their support, we threw ideas and names around and mom came up with “The Butcher’s Daughter”. My dad would be proud and excited to be part of this.

And so the journey began..

And the journey continues….

After the success the food trailer provided in a short time, I decided to move indoors.  In 2021 we purchased a beautiful location on the Androscoggin River in Gorham NH.   Continuing with the craft sandwiches, salads and bakery items we provided in the trailer we added fresh meats, seafood, prepared foods and much more including many local products.

Within several months the business was on its way and becoming more than one could handle.   This is where it all changed… My husband, best friend, butcher and amazing chef, joined  full time.  Brian’s knowledge and talents have put us on the map as the “go to butcher”. Brian a former protein specialist and executive chef, has brought so much to the business.

Together we are committed to provide quality to our guests using fresh and well sourced ingredients
